The Teaching Macuiltianguis Zapotec Collection is a corpus of transcribed video and audio recordings from Zapotec classes that took place in San Pablo Macuiltianguis, Oaxaca, Mexico between 2015 and 2016 under the direction of Mtra. Raquel Eufemia Cruz Manzano. The participants in the classes are children from the community who were learning Zapotec as beginners. The videos were collected in collaboration with the Grupo Cultural Tagayu’ for the purpose of identifying effective teacher practices and assessing how the nature of linguistic input and interaction available to learners affects learning outcomes. The corpus is archived online at the Archive of the Indigenous Languages of Latin America.
